Privacy Policy for Fortuna Staff
Fortuna Staff (com.fortunasm.staff) is a private workplace
app for employees of Fortuna SM, a grocery store in Murrayville,
Georgia. It is not a consumer product, it is not listed for the general
public, and it is not directed at children.
The app is a shell. After you sign in, it shows the store’s own staff tools (ordering, receiving, counting, and similar back-office work) from the store’s server. This policy covers that app and those tools.
Who this is for
Only people the store has invited as staff. You cannot create an account from the app. A manager creates your Fortuna login. Installing the app from Google Play or TestFlight does not, by itself, give you access to any store data.
What we collect
We collect only what the store needs to run those staff tools:
- Account. The email address and password the store assigns you. The password is stored hashed. We do not use your Google Play email as your Fortuna login unless those happen to be the same address you were given at work.
- Session. Sign-in tokens kept on the device so you stay signed in while you work. The app signs you out after five minutes of inactivity.
- Work you enter. Counts, receiving quantities, product edits, notes, and other records you save in the course of the job. Those records live on the store’s server in the United States.
- Camera — barcodes. When you tap Scan, the camera is used only to read a barcode. We do not save those frames or record video.
- Camera or photo library — product pictures. If you take or choose a photo of a product, that picture is stored on the store’s server as the catalogue image for that product. It is not used for advertising.
We do not run ads. We do not use advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, or crash-reporting SDKs. We do not sell your information.
What we do not collect
- Precise or approximate location
- Contacts, call logs, or SMS
- Your personal photos, except a product picture you choose to upload
- Payment card numbers (this app does not take customer payments)
How the app reaches the store
Fortuna Staff talks to the store over a private network. Staff also install Tailscale, which is a separate app with its own privacy policy. Without that connection, Fortuna Staff cannot load store data. That is intentional.
If you open the store’s public admin site in a browser instead of this app, Cloudflare may ask for your email so it can send a one-time sign-in code. That email check is not part of the Fortuna Staff app.
Google Play and Apple
Google Play (and TestFlight on iPhone) distribute the app. They may collect device and install information under their own policies. We do not receive your Google account from Play in order to sign you into Fortuna.
Sharing
Store records stay with Fortuna SM. We do not share them with advertisers or data brokers. We may share information if the law requires it, or with a service provider who only processes it for us to operate the store systems (for example hosting). Customer card payments on the register go through the card reader’s processor; that is not this app.
Retention
Session tokens are cleared when you sign out or after idle timeout. Work records (sales history, inventory counts, product photos, and similar) are kept as long as the store needs them to operate, account, and meet legal duties. When your employment or access ends, ask a manager to deactivate your Fortuna login.
Children
Fortuna Staff is a workplace tool for store staff. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your choices
- You can refuse camera permission. Scanning and product photos will not work until you allow it.
- You can sign out at any time.
- You can uninstall the app. That removes the copy on your phone; it does not delete work records already saved on the store’s server.
- To correct or delete your staff account, ask a store manager.
